Send and receive crypto safely

Add accounts, verify addresses, and send your first transaction with on-device confirmation.

Security tips
  1. Install Ledger Live from ledger.com, then add the app for your asset (BTC, ETH, USDC, etc.).
  2. Add an account in Ledger Live; connect and unlock your Ledger to derive addresses.
  3. To receive, copy the address shown in Ledger Live, then confirm the same address on the device screen. If any character differs, stop.
  4. Share the verified address and wait for on-chain confirmations. For Bitcoin, wait for 1–3 blocks; for Ethereum, wait for finality on your network.
  5. To send, paste the destination address, verify the full address and amount on-device, and approve only if exact.
  6. Start with a small test transaction, confirm arrival, then send the main amount.

Stake while keeping keys offline. Choose validators carefully and monitor rewards.

Security tips
  1. Update Ledger firmware and the relevant app (Ethereum, Solana, Cosmos) before staking.
  2. For ETH, use trusted providers that support Ledger Live or hardware-signing flows; avoid unknown smart contracts.
  3. For SOL/ATOM, delegate to reputable validators with solid uptime and transparent commission. Avoid unknown 0% commission nodes that may be unsustainable.
  4. Keep some native token for network fees (ETH, SOL, ATOM) to claim rewards or redelegate.
  5. Monitor validator performance; redelegate if uptime or behavior degrades. Avoid frequent moves that waste fees.
  6. Never expose the 24-word phrase during staking; all approvals must be confirmed on-device.

  4. Read the full transaction data on-device; avoid blind signing or unknown function calls.
  5. Revoke marketplace/token approvals regularly with reputable tools; keep gas for revocations.
  6. Never store seed phrases in browsers, screenshots, or cloud notes.

  1. Access dApps through trusted URLs; bookmark them and avoid search ads.
  2. Use read-only/watch mode first to validate balances and contract states.
  3. Limit token approvals to exact amounts when possible; avoid unlimited spends.
  4. Verify chain selection (Mainnet, Arbitrum, Polygon, etc.) on both Ledger Live and your dApp.
  5. Keep a small balance on hot wallets for experimentation; store bulk funds in a vault wallet.
  6. If prompted with unreadable data, cancel and investigate. Blind signing is high risk.

Security tips
  1. Write the 24 words on the supplied cards; make two physical copies stored in separate secure locations.
  2. Never type the phrase into phones/computers; avoid cloud or photo backups.
  3. Consider a metal backup plate for fire/water resistance. Store separately from the device.
  4. In case of loss/theft, buy a new Ledger and restore using the 24 words—only on a trusted computer.
  5. If you suspect exposure of the phrase, move funds to a new wallet with a fresh seed immediately.

Pair via Bluetooth securely and keep transactions verified on-device.

Security tips
  1. Install Ledger Live on iOS/Android from the official app stores. Avoid sideloaded APKs.
  2. Pair the Nano X via Bluetooth in-app; if pairing fails, forget the device in OS settings and retry.
  3. Keep the device within 1–2 meters; avoid public Wi-Fi when transacting.
  4. Always confirm addresses on-device; if mobile shows a different address, cancel.
  5. For firmware updates, prefer USB on desktop to minimize risk during flashing.
